Christina Calamaio, mezzo soprano

Mezzo Soprano Christina Calamaio was a recent NATS competition winner in Boston and a semi-finalist in the Classical Singer Audition Corps vocal competition. This summer she performed the roles of Tisbe in La Cenerentola with Opera del West and 3rd Lady in The Magic Flute with Boston Opera Collaborative. Past roles include 2nd woman in Weston Opera Fest's Dido and Aneas, Octavian in Lowell House Opera's Der Rosenkavalier, Mother Jeanne in Boston Opera Collaborative's Dialogue of the Carmelites, Composer in Ariadne auf Naxos with Opera in the Ozarks, Sally in Hand of Bridge and Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors. This past year Ms. Calamaio also performed in the ensemble at Boston Lyric Opera. Upcoming roles include Suor Zelatrice in Suor Angelica with Boston Opera Collaborative. Oratorio Work includes Bach's B Minor Mass with Belmont Orchestra, Dvorak's Mass in D Minor and ensemble work with Tulsa Oratorio Chorus and Hingham Symphony. Ms. Calamaio holds a master's degree from New England Conservatory.
