Rachel Gitner, soprano

Soprano Rachel Gitner is quickly becoming a sought-after interpreter of dramatic music. She developed a “unique and pleasing sound” through her studies at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and the University of Oregon. Recent engagements include a solo recital at Weill Concert Hall at Carnegie Hall as part of La Gesse Foundation Festival. She recently performed at the Vancouver Early Music Festival and has sung for the Boston Ballet’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Her operatic engagements include the role of Diana in Harvard Early Music Society's La Calisto. She enjoys her current work as the soprano soloist and section leader at the Elliot Church in Newton, and as a chorus member in the Renaissance group, Cappella Clausura. She is an active recitalist and performer throughout the Boston area. In addition to her musical activities, Rachel is a paralegal and fund-raising professional for The First Church of Christ, Scientist. She specializes in marketing, charitable giving through estate planning and planned giving. She and her husband live in Melrose, MA.
