![]() Janet Poisson, Soprano Soprano Janet Poisson has been receiving critical acclaim for her striking stage presence due to “the kind of ease of movement around the stage that adds to a production’s natural rhythm and realism” and for her "good stage presence, solid acting prowess and pleasing vocal ability” (Opera Online). In addition to establishing herself as a promising singing actress, Janet is equally at home in recital, chamber music, and oratorio. Janet has recently appeared with the chamber music trio Enchante Musique, in the Nashua Symphony’s Bach Lunch Concert Series and Art Walk Nashua. Janet has established herself as an oratorio solo performer in the works of Handel’s Messiah, Zulu Mass by Qinisela Sibisi (world premier), Mozart’s Requiem, Schubert’s Mass is G, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Bach’s Magnificat, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and Bernstein’s Mass. She has performed with NH Master Chorale, Manchester Choral Society, Cappella Clausura, Newton Community Chorus, and Boston Coro di Camera and Plymouth State University. A passionate advocate for music education, Janet has taught general music and directed choirs in public schools in the New Hampshire cities of Concord, Nashua, and Manchester. In addition, Janet previously taught private voice at Ted Herbert’s Music School, and currently maintains a teaching studio at Nashua Community Music School. |
