Praised by Richard Dyer of the Boston Globe as having a voice that grows "truer and sweeter" the higher she sings, Sipra's recent opera experience includes performances with the Opera Boston Opera Underground series, the role of Bridget Booth in The Crucible, Claire in La Vie Parisienne, Liat in South Pacific, and ensemble for Nixon in China and L'etoile - all with Opera Boston. Other roles include Mary Lenox in The Secret Garden, Meg Murray in Libby Larsen's contemporary opera, A Wrinkle in Time, Emmie in Albert Herring, Virtu in L'incoronazione di Poppea, and Hope Harcourt in Anything Goes. Equally at home on the concert stage, Sipra has been the soprano soloist in various oratorio works including Handel's Messiah, Bach's St. Matthew Passion, Fauré's Requiem, and the role of the Angel in Respighi's Lauda per la Nativita del Signore in esteemed Jordan Hall. Sipra holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. Sipra is thrilled to be singing with Cappella Clausura this season!
