Fire and Ice: Composition Competition

Cappella Clausura's performances of Fire and Ice: New Compositions inspired by Vittoria Aleotti in April of 2027 will feature madrigals by Italian Renaissance composer Vittoria Aleotti. We will intersperse these madrigals with five short, newly commissioned a cappella pieces by emerging Boston-area composers on a complementary theme to the Aleotti madrigals.

Deadline: Sunday, November 22, 11:59pm EST
Winners Notified: Friday, December 4
First draft due: Monday, February 15
Final score due: Monday, March 1
Rehearsals: Rehearsals are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings in Back Bay, and Friday evening in Newton, for the week leading up to the performances. Winners are expected to attend two rehearsals at minimum to give feedback on Cappella Clausura's interpretation of your piece.
